AUBURN-Elizabeth L. “Betty” (Couture) Barch, 82, of Auburn died Monday February 4th in her home after an illness, with her family at her side. Her husband Joseph Barch died in 1984 She is survived by her children; Theresa L. Grimala, Robert J. Grimala, Suzanne Lori LaFlash and her husband Norman, and Kenneth J. “Chucky” Barch, 12 loving grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, a sister Judy Martin of Worcester, and brothers Richard Couture and David Couture both of Worcester, as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her son Joseph Barch, Jr, and sisters; Jean St. Germain, Marie Shays, Barbara Lebeau, and Ruth Thibeault, and brothers; Alfred “Sonny” Couture and Paul Couture. She was born in Worcester. Betty was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth (Peterson) Couture. She was educated in Worcester Schools. Betty worked in the food service department and as a supervisor the laundry department at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester for many years. She had previously worked as an operator and inspector at Lundquist Tool. Among her hobbies were crocheting, crafting, reading, gardening, playing bingo and above all spending time with family. She especially enjoyed riding around the house on her scooter with Jaiden on her lap. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street Auburn from 2-4 PM on Sunday, February 10th. Burial plans are private.
