Robert Lariviere

Robert B. Lariviere, 83, of Auburn, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Golden Living Center-The Hermitage, Worcester, following a period of declining health. Bob leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley C. (Griffin) Lariviere; his four daughters, Sheryl A. and her husband Craig Jyringi of Rochdale, Sharon M. Lariviere of Auburn, Tracy E. Lariviere of Dudley, and Catherine M. Lariviere and her husband Craig Tessler of Los Angeles, CA. He also leaves three grandchildren; Nicole Jyringi and her husband Thomas Adams of Sturbridge, and Zachary and Sebastian Tessler of Los Angeles a great-granddaughter Avery Piper Adams and one great-granddaughter on the way; his sister, Pauline Belair of Auburn; his brother, Richard Lariviere of Palestine, TX, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Lariviere was born in Worcester in 1929, son of the late Peter and Alcida (Bertrand) Lariviere. After graduating from St. John’s High School and Holy Cross College, he completed courses at Worcester Junior College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Harvard Business School. Mr. Lariviere was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Following completion of service in the U. S. Army in the Korean War, Bob worked for Wyman-Gordon Company for 36 years, retiring as manager of international sales in 1991. The family wishes to extend our appreciation to the staff at The Hermitage who bestowed care and kindness upon Bob in his final days. Per Mr. Lariviere’s wishes, a private calling hour will be held for the family at 9:30 AM at Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street North, Auburn at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 21st. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to extend our appreciation to the staff at The Hermitage who bestowed care and kindness upon Bob in his final days.
