Auburn-Hope E. (Johnson) Nelson, 66, of Auburn, died Wednesday in St. Vincent’s Hospital after an illness. She leaves her daughter Debbie Nelson and her granddaughter Ayla Nelson both of Auburn, as well as many special cousins, friends and loved ones. Hope was born in Worcester. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Hilda (Erickson) Johnson. Hope was educated in Auburn, and is a graduate of Auburn High School. Ms. Nelson worked as the Senior Tech Specialist for the former Allmerica Financial until her retirement and had most recently worked for Barkan Management at Bet Shalom Apartments in Worcester. Hope cherished the time spent with her family and friends. She loved everything about the beach, especially the sound of the waves and the smell of the salt air. She would hunt for sea glass and sand dollars by day and dine on lobster in the evening. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Hope’s life on Saturday April 6, 2013 from 2-4pm in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street Auburn. Burial will be held privately.
