Charlton-William E. Lovejoy, Jr. passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in St. Vincent’s Hospital, after losing a very short battle with cancer. He leaves behind many loved ones including his loving companion Debra (Matthews) Doyle, and his children; Colleen McDuffie and her husband R. Todd of Worcester, Amy Smith of Lawton, OK, a son-in-law Philippe Leblanc of Auburn, Lisa Person and her husband Brian of Wilbraham, Matthew Doyle and his fiancée Rebecca Ray of Warwick, Rl, Rebekah Sidener and her husband Jesse of Ft. Meyers, FL and Ryan Doyle of Hampden. He also leaves his loving grandchildren; Jackie, Joshua, Zachary, Sarah, Abigail, Simone, Daniel, Timothy, Irene and Dylan. He leaves his mother, Irene Parenteau of Auburn, Brother Stephen Parenteau and his wife Karen of Sterling, MA, a sister Susan Clifford and her husband Edward of Worcester, his Step-Mother Irene Lovejoy, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father William E. Lovejoy, Sr. and his step-father Earl Parenteau. Born in Worcester, and educated Auburn schools, he was a graduate of Auburn High School. Bill was a proud veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam era as a member of the US Army and as a helicopter crew chief at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Presently, he was employed and a co-owner of United Metal Fabricators in Worcester, where he worked for over 20 years. Vacationing in the Villages, Florida was his favorite place to be. Bill loved history and trivia including space and aeronautics. He had a wealth of knowledge of classic cars and automobiles and enjoyed attending classic car shows. His love of music and listening to public radio was a favorite past time. He shall be remembered and cherished by all of those whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 4-7 PM Monday February 25, 2013 in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street Auburn. His funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM in the Federated Community Church 590 Main Street, Hampden, MA on Tuesday, Febraury 26th, 2013. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in the spring.
