BOYLSTON- Paul S. “Buddy” Briggs, 73, of Boylston, died unexpectedly Friday, February 22, 2013 in Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. His wife of 49 years, Karen (Hershey) Briggs died in 2007. He leaves his children, Jeff Briggs and his fiancé, Jen of Clinton, Timothy L. Briggs and his wife, Christine of Shrewsbury and Tammy L. Briggs of Boylston; two brothers, Robert Briggs of Barnstable and Thomas Briggs; two sisters, Joan Geneva of W. Boylston and Virginia Stark of Shrewsbury; also survived by seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jenna, Michael, Timothy, Kayla, Jacob, and Emma; three great grandchildren, Ava, Aidan and Austin; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents, Fred and Mary (Hicks), sister, Beverly Stark and four brothers, Henry, William, Vernon, and Kenneth. Buddy is also survived by his mother-in-law, Betty Martin of Worcester with whom he was always close. Buddy was a long time employee of Aggregate Industries in Edgemere, and member of the Teamsters Union Local 170; was a volunteer firefighter for the Boylston Fire Department, and a member of Straw Hollow Engine Works club and enjoyed restoring antique engines and tractors with his friends and sons. Buddy was an animal lover and, despite his frequent objections, fell in love with (nearly) every pet his family brought into the house. Relatives and friends are invited to visit Buddy’s family on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A service celebrating his life will be on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston
