Constance Brodeur

Constance C. “Connie” Brodeur passed away peacefully on March 21,2013 in Knollwood Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Paul E. Brodeur and her son P. Kevin Brodeur. She is survived by six children, Lawrence A. Brodeur and his wife Joyce of Sutton, Mark E. Brodeur and his wife, Regina of West Boylston, Margaret T. Guardiani and her husband Edward of Rhode Island, Thomas G. Brodeur and his wife Maureen of North Attleboro, Constance M. Brodeur-Sassi and her husband Thomas of Stamford, CT and Christine D. Mooshian and her husband John of Worcester, 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and her sister Elaine G. Hall of Richmond, VA. She was also preceded in death by her sister Madeline Tucker of Vernon, CT, brother James R. Guerin of Auburn, MA as well as her grandson, United States Air Force Major David L. Brodeur, of Colorado Springs, CO. Born in Worcester on April 12,1925. She graduated from Worcester North High School, received her BS in Education from Framingham State College and her Master of Education from Worcester State College. Connie was a founding member of her parish, North American Martyrs in Auburn and was an active parishioner, where she served on various committees including the Women’s Club, the Bereavement Committee, which she initiated, and RCIA. After raising her family, Connie rejoined the work force as a teacher at Auburn Jr. High. After retirement, she served as a docent at the Salisbury Mansion and continued her volunteer work at church. She also served as a Town Meeting Member for the Town of Auburn and was active in Alumni affairs at Framingham State University. Her strong faith and unwavering belief in God were central in her commitment to her family, church and community. Connie loved her husband and family, the beaches of Cape Cod, and reading. Always friendly and an open spirit, she would welcome you into her home for a chat and a bite to eat. She loved to entertain and was frequently the organizer of social events. A spirited soul, she approached life in a very practical way and instilled this in her children. Her legacy to her family was to embrace life, to love fully, and think independently. Relatives and friends may call at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn on Sunday, March 25, 2013 from 2-5PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at North American Martyr’s Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn on Monday, March 26th 10 AM with a reception to follow at the church. Burial will be private The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Major David Brodeur Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 124, Auburn, MA 01501
