WORCESTER – Anne E. (Murphy) Keenan, 74 of Worcester, MA passed away after an extended illness on Friday, March 22nd surrounded by loved ones at the Jewish HealthCare Center. Her beloved husband of 30 years, John F. Keenan, predeceased her in 2005. Anne is survived by 4 loving sons; Mark E. Cormier and his wife Deborah, their children Matthew Cormier and his wife Lauren, Geoffrey and Michelle; David G. Cormier and Sarah Cormier, their children David, IV and Elena; Jay W. Cormier and Kathy Loftus; Kevin J. Cormier and his children Kevin and Eric; her sister Joan A. (Murphy) McInnis of Tonawanda, NY, many close nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her brother William T. Murphy of Wakefield and her sister Helen M. (Murphy) Kenneally of Worcester, MA. Anne was born in Worcester on May 10, 1938, to parents Edward F. Murphy and Veronica G. (McNamara) Murphy. She lived most of her life in Worcester, where she raised a family and worked as an EKG Tecnician at the former Worcester City Hospital, and Herbie’s Restaurant. A social butterfly, Anne loved nothing more than being with her family and grandchildren. She had a deep love for all things Irish and enjoyed trips to Hampton Beach and York, ME. She will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to know her. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Anne’s family on Sunday, March 24th from 2-5 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Anne’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 25th at 10 AM in Saint George’s Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St. Worcester. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Anne’s memory to Jewish HealthCare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
